Hunter Douglas Singapore was again conferred the Singapore Institute of Architects' Friend of Architecture Award on 22 August 2003, making it the first, and thus far, the only company to be conferred twice.
Hunter Douglas Singapore has had a presence in the Singapore market for over 43 years. Incorporated on 25th March 1965, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dutch International Industrial Hunter Douglas Group.
A professional marketing and project team has been serving architects, designers and builders with a broad range of proprietary metal Awning, Ceiling, Cladding, Façade and Sun Louvre Systems under the brandname Luxalon®.
It also markets a range of proprietary Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Silhouette®, Luminette® Privacy Sheers, Vignette® Modern Roman Shades, Alouette® Lightlovers and Facette®Shades. In addition to our fabric shades, we offer a fully integrated line of fashion and colour coordinated window coverings. These include Venetian and Vertical Blinds, Roman, Roller and Woven Wood Shades, Wood Blinds and Custom Shutters.
In 1996, the Company was the first in the metal ceilings industry to be awarded the ISO 9002 certification by the Productivity and Standards Board of Singapore (PSB). On 10 February 1999, the 38th Council of the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) conferred Hunter Douglas Singapore the SIA's Friend of Architecture Award in recognition of our contribution to the Architecture in Singapore and our continuous support of SIA. In 1999, it teamed up with the National University of Singapore, Department of Architecture to organise the NUS - Hunter Douglas Award for the Innovative Use of Technology in Architecture for students of the School. On 19 July 2000, Hunter Douglas Singapore was conferred the Singapore Quality Class by PSB in recogntion of the Company achieving a commendable level of performance in their journey towards business excellence. In January 2001, the window covering products business of Hunter Douglas, previously marketed by its sister company, Window Furnishings Singapore Pte Ltd, under the brandname Luxaflex® was integrated under the newly created Window Fashions Division of Hunter Douglas Singapore Pte Ltd.
In January 2002, Hunter Douglas Singapore was conferred the People Developer Standard by SPRING Singapore in recognition of its commitment to developing its people and having a systematic training programme in place.
